Action Server will not connect

The Action Server won't start. I've try both the troubleshooting articles on connections and networking but those will not work either. The Action Server sees the following IP addresses in operation:

0.0.0.0
192.168.2.125 ---- the computer the Action Server is running
0.0.0.0 ---- don't know why this second instance shows up
192.168.126.1 ---- from VMWare
192.168.174.1 ---- from VMWare

I'm using Windows 7. The current router I'm using to network is using Tomato firmware. Through the Actions App on my Ipad, I am able to see the Computer with the Actions Server.

Why won't the server connect? Please help ...

Hi Hope

thank you for writing us and sorry for your issues!

Just to be sure, when you see the Actions’ Network panel in your iPad, do you tap your computer name and you receive an error message?
In this case let’s try the manual connection using the Custom IP Address,
you should insert the IP 192.168.1.125 then tap on it to make Actions connect.
Also check if the listening port is the default 17797, if you change this value you must change it also on your iPad. In case i’ll tell you how.

If you can’t connect trough the default port then my bet is that something is wrong in the firewall settings of Windows.
In your PC open the control panel then select Windows firewall, then in the left column choose “Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall” as in the picture

Now in the application list look for Actions Server, and allow it to accept connections on your network type (usually it is a Home/Work network, but if you are in doubt allow AS also for Public networks). See the picture for reference

Once you have authorized you should connect without any problem.
