No wifi connection

Hi,

I currently use a wired Ethernet connection for internet and do not have a wifi network constantly running. Is it possible to use this app via Bluetooth/lightning cable instead of wifi? Thanks!

Hi Olivier

We cannot make Actions connect via the USB cable because Apple applies severe restrictions to it, we cannot overcome them. But in case you are using a Mac you still can try with two alternatives ways.

Th first is to establish a direct wifi connection to your Mac (no need for a router).

The second is to use the Bluetooth, if fact even if the bluetooth is NOT officially supported, we have very good results with it using Actions on the most recent hardwares.

Let me know what computer do you have, and if is a Mac we will try to find a good solution.

Hi, I have some of the same issue. At my university, the network is so packed with firewalls that the iPad can't connect to the Mac (MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013). How can I establish a connection via Bluetooth?

Hi Erik

if you don’t need a connection just between your MacBook and your iPad (no internet) you can create an adhoc connection from your Mac.

hello,

if iPad and computer are on the same network you should be able to connect correctly using Ethernet.

In case you can’t, the problem may lie with your company’s firewall settings, which could separate wired and wireless connections for security reasons.

Good evening,

I kind of have a similar issue. I do have WiFi, and have used it with my laptop at work, but I've been issued to another computer that has no WiFi functions, but is still connected to the same internet network via Ethernet. Is it possible to connect them in some way?

The case is the same with PCs or Macs.

Keep in mind that your ethernet connected computer must be on the same network of the iPad, and the iPad can only connect via wifi.
So what you need is a router with double connection type (ethernet and wifi).

If this is true and you can’t see your computer from your iPad the problem reside in your network’s firewall and security settings, as these may easily block this behavior.
